Siento ser yo la que saque el tema pero ¡se acaba el verano! Dentro de unos días, celebraremos el cumple de mi Santo que es el cierre de temporada, y estamos barajando un tema "hawaiano"... Todo sea por hacer un poco el canelo antes de que llegue el frío.

I'm sorry to bring this up but... summer is almost over! In a few days we'll celebrate my hubby's birthday which is kinda the end of the rooftop bbq season, and we're thinking about going hawaian... Anything to get silly before the winter comes.

Pimping tees #2: DIY easy painted tee

Hoy os traigo un DIY de lo más facil. Yo lo hice por que tengo muchas camisetas lisas y es una manera fácil y rápida de animarlas. Solo necesitas cinta de carrocero o washi tape, una esponja y pintura de tela.

Today I show you an reeeeeally easy DIY. I did it cause I have a lot of plain t-shirts and its a quick, easy way to spruce them up. You just need washi tape, a sponge and fabric paint.

Simplemente silueteamos la figura con la washi tape, mojamos la esponja y aplicamos. Esta pintura es rosa neón pero al ser absorbida por la tela queda como borrada, como si fuese una camiseta que hemos lavado muchas veces y el dibujo se ha borrado. Si queremos que quede brillante, primero damos una capa de pintura blanca, dejamos secar y aplicamos la neón encima.

Just tape the figure with the washi tape, you damp the sponge and apply the paint. This one is neon pink but when it dries it looks faded, as if has been washed many times. If you want it shinier, first apply a white coat, let it dry and then add the neon.

Y cuando está seco, quitamos la cinta y... ¡tachán! ¡Camiseta nueva! Al ser una forma sencilla, no hace falta hacer una plantilla, se pinta enseguida, y en media hora tenemos camiseta nueva y ¡lista para usar!

Once its dry, you just take out the tape and... ta-da! New tee! It's so easy it allows you to have a brand new tee in 30 minutes, ready to use. Enjoy!

Gracias al Instagram de Mer en Madrid encontré (¡por fín, gracias!) unas gafas de espejo chulísimas. La verdad es que había un montón de colores y son bastante baratas, pero al final me decidí por las rojas, que quedan muy bien con mi bolso Varadero de Zubi. Un rollo surfero que me gusta mucho este verano, aunque toda la gente que conozco me ha "prohibido" tajantemente adentrarme en el mundo del longboard o el surf, debido a mi patosidad extrema. Para mí, los tacones ya son  un deporte de riesgo...

Thanks to Mer en Madrid's Instagram I found (finally!) some cool mirrored shades. They have them in many colors and are pretty cheap, but I bought the red ones which go terriby well with my Zubi Varadero pouch. A surfer look I'm loving this summer, even when all the people who knows me has "forbidden" me from learning to surf or riding a longboard, due to my extreme clumsiness. For me, walking in heels is already a risky sport...

YSL tee and shorts

Como os dije, os enseño un ejemplo de como combinar la camiseta: vaqueros cortos desteñidos, bolso negro y complementos en plata. Por que con el calor que está haciendo no doy para más.

As I told you, I show you an idea to combine the tee I made: bleached denim cut offs, black purse and silver rings. Because is so hot I can think of anything better.

Pimping tees #1: DIY grey YSL t-shirt

Ya os dije que este verano era el verano de las manualidades (es lo que tiene no poder viajar). Hoy me he decidido por animar una camiseta básica de algodón gris. Para mí, las mejores camisetas veraniegas son las de algodón básico de H&M de la sección másculina. Cuestan como 5 € y el algodón es genial, cuanto más lo usas más bonito está. Antes de usarlas, todas mis camisetas suelen pasar por 2 pasos básicos: recortar el elástico del cuello (no me quedan tan bien con el cuello cerrado y dan más calor) y quitarles el apresto con baños de sal, avejenta la prenda y queda mucho más suave.

I told you this summer is the summer of DIY. Today I'm pimping this basic grey t-shirt, is from H&M men which have the best cotton t-shirts super cheap, like 5 €. Before I use them I normally take 2 steps: one is cutting the neck off (doesn't really suit me that well with the original neck and are hotter) and the other is taken the stiffener out with salt water, it ages the cotton and is much more soft.

He hecho 3 camisetas diferentes que os enseñaré en varios post, esta es la primera. Para esta camiseta necesitaremos una plantilla con la imagen que queramos (en mi caso el logo de Yves Saint-Laurent), pintura de tela, washi tape y una esponja. Es el mismo proceso que usé para hacer las camisetas de Isabel Marant en este post. Pegamos la plantilla con washi tape a la camiseta, mojamos la esponja en la pintura y empezamos.

I've done 3 different tees that I'll show in various posts, this is the first one. For this t-shirt we need a template with the image we want (for me is an YSL logo), fabric paints, washi tape and a sponge. Is the same process as the one I used for the Marant t-shirt I did in this post. We paste the template with washi tape at the t-shirt, we dip the sponge in the paint and we're ready to go.

Recordad que hay que poner algo entre el pecho y la espalda de la camiseta para que no se manche con lo que traspase. Cuando hayáis terminado quedará así:

Remember to put somethin between the front and the back of the tee so the paint doesn't stains the back. When you're done it'll look like this:

Repasamos los bordes que necesiten arreglarse por donde estaba pegada la washi tape con un pincel.

We go over the edges that need touching up where the washi tape was with a brush.

Y para terminar, yo le puesto unas tachuelas en los hombros.

And as a final touch, I put some studs in the shoulders.

sightseeing

Este verano ya no nos vamos a ningún lado, pasamos un verano madrileño... ¡lo que no quiere decir que deje de pensar en todos los sitios a los que me gustaría viajar! Por ejemplo, me imagino en Grecia, haciendo turismo, paseando con el bañador debajo de la ropa para aprovechar todas las playas que encontremos. Imprescindible: gafas de sol, shorts vaqueros, protección solar y unas sandalias cómodas y altas para potenciar el rollo hippy (estas son de Spartoo). ¡Soñar es gratis!

This summer we won't be travelling anywhere, we're having a summer in the city... which doesn't means I stop daydreaming about all the things I want to do! For example, I imagine I'm in Greece, sightseeing, wearing my swimsuit under my clothes to go to every beach we pass. Musts: sunglasses, spf moisturizer, denim shorts and a pair of comfy high sandals for the hippy touch (this one are from Spartoo). Dreaming is free!

DIY studded sneakers

¡Otro de los apaños que tenía reservados para las vacaciones! Tenía muchas ganas de tachuelearme unas converse, ya había visto varios tutoriales por ahí y la verdad es que es un curro (y eso que mis tachuelas eran grandes) pero no tiene ningún misterio. Las que yo he tuneado son unas converse bajitas que compré en Spartoo, pero lo puedes hacer con cualquier zapatilla de lona.

Another of the projects I have reserved for the holidays! I wanted badly to stud a pair of chucks, I've seen several tutorials on blogs and it takes a lot of time, but it's really easy. I customized a pair of converse chucks I bought on Spartoo, but  you can use any fabric sneaker.

Lo primero que he hecho ha sido avejentarlas un poco, por que a mí las chucks me gustan cuando están viejas y estropeadas. Para ello simplemente las he limado un poco, se puede hacer con un rallador, por ejemplo. Luego empezamos a poner las tachuelas en filas, se hace un pequeño agujerito con la tijera o un punzón y ponemos la tachuela.

The first thing I've done is to age them a bit, because I don't like brand new chucks, I prefer them a bit used. For this I just file the fabric, with a grater for example. Then you just put the studs in rows, making a tiny hole with a pair of scissors or a hole punch and then introducing the stud.

Este paso es el que más tiempo toma, ya que tienes que llenar las zapatillas. Para los talones he puesto unos pinchos en lugar de tachuelas, que van con tornillos, ya que el talón es la parte más dura de la zapatilla...

This is the longest step because you have to fill up the sneakers. For the heels I used spikes instead of studs because they're attached with screws, and this is the hardest part of the shoe...

Cuando ya las hemos puesto todas las tachuelas, le podemos volver a poner los cordones. Yo aún he hecho una cosa más, totalmente opcional, para "ensuciar" un poco la suela: mezclamos esmalte de uñas gris y negro y con un trocito de film transparente, manchamos las zonas que queramos.

When we've put all the studs, we can put the laces back on. I've still done one more step to dirt up the soles: I've mixed black & grey nail polish and with a bit of transparent film you stain the bits you want.

Et voilá!! Zapatillas tuneadas súper fáciles. Perfectas para ponérselas con shorts y camisitas blancas y detalles femeninos, como este collar de Zara. Este verano puedo decir ¡VIVA EL DIY!

Lo bueno de Asos es que es donde normalmente encuentro las cosas raras que me gustan, por lo menos antes que en cualquier otro sitio. Después de un año buscando una blusa de este estilo la encontre allí, ¡y además en rebajas!

The good thing about Asos is that I usually find the weird stuff I like, at least before than anywhere else... After a year looking for a pj blouse I found it there, and on sale!

friendship bracelets DIY

Ahora que estoy de vacaciones, es el momento en el que hago todas las cosas que no puedo hacer el resto del año cuando estoy más ocupada. También es el único momento del año en el que me apetece llevar las muñecas llenas de pulseras...

Así que este verano me estoy dedicando a retomar el pasatiempo preferido de mis veranos adolescentes y dedicarme a hacer pulseras de hilo, solo que este año, las hago un poco diferentes añadiendo tachuelas, piedras y calaveras.

Now that I'm on holidays, is the moment I do everything that I don't have time to do the rest of the year when I'm busier. Is also the only moment of the year when I feel like to wear a lot of bracelets...

So this summer I go back to my favourite passtime of my teen years and make friendship bracelets, but this year I spruced them up with studs, crystals and skulls.

Life's good on summer...
