studded trench diy

Con la fiebre que me ha entrado últimamente por las manualidades, por fín me he decido a reciclar una gabardina que tenía guardada desde mis años de trabajo en oficina. En aquella época tenía que ceñirme (un poco) a unas reglas de vestuario que no me hacían ni pizca de gracia. Ahora tengo la suerte de ir básicamente a mi rollo y esta era una prenda a la que no sacaba partido. Pero con un apañito la he convertido en una capa más para el entretiempo, que es lo que me gusta. De hecho hoy llevaba tantas capas que mi hermana pequeña me ha preguntado por qué llevaba tanta ropa... casi me muero de la risa.

As lately I've been crazy about handmade stuff, I've finally decide to recycle a trench I have from my office days. On those days I had to follow (kind of) a dress code I really loathe. But now I can mostly wear whatever I like, and this was a piece I didn't use at all. But with a little help of the scissors I turned it into another layer to wear at fall, which is what I like. In fact my little sister asked my today why I was wearing so many clothes... I almost choked from laughter.

Lo primero que he hecho es cortarle las mangas y una especie de cintas que tenía en los hombros para convertirla en un chaleco. Como quería darle un rollo imperfecto y usado, no he rematado la costura para que se deshilache un poco.

First thing is cutting off the sleeves and some kind of belts it had on the shoulders, to make it into a vest. As I wanted a shabby, destroyed look, I haven't sew the edges so it can fray with time.

Después he descosido las trabillas del cinturón ya que no iba a usarlo más. Y quedaría así:

After that I've unstitched the belt loops as I not going to use a belt anymore. And it will look like this:

Después solo quedaba ponerle las tachuelas. He seleccionado las que iba a poner en las solapas y en los bolsillos:

After that, we just have to stud it! I've chose the ones I was going to put on lapels and pockets.

¡Y así es como nos queda! ¿Que os parece? Yo desde luego le voy a sacar mucho más partido de esta manera.

Y así la he estrenado yo. Esta es la razón de que al llevar al parque a mi hermanita me haya preguntado por qué tanta ropa... ;)
